All our products are finished with Sikkens microporous professional coating systems, designed to allow the wood to take and expel the neccesary water vapours from the atmosphere thus increasing the life span of the timber. The process includes a preservative dip to protect against insect infestation and anti fungal, base coat, mid coat and two top coats of micropourous paint or stain which will last for up to 10 years before recoating is neccesary.
The colour stain options above are shown on our Red Grandis range of hardwood. Different ranges of timber species will affect the final colour. The photo shows a three coat finish, base stain followed by one top coat in the centre of the wood and the final finish at the bottom half of the wood. All our products are fully finished however we can provide windows with a base coat only, for further coats to be applied on site. Stained finishes should last for a period of 8 years before recoating is neccesary depending on the exposure catagory of the area installed.
Painted finish options are available in most RAL colours and should last for a period of up to 10 years before recoating is neccesary depending on the exposure catagory of the area installed. Please see our RAL colour chart below under attachments.
